Pop Art Design, 22 October 2013 – 9 February 2014, LONDON

The great 50’s art movement is back giving life to London’s design. The United Kingdom’s Independent Group and United States Pop Art commented on the cult of celebrity, commodity fetishism and the proliferation of media that permeated everyday life after the Second World War. Artists and designers adopted the new language in advertising, television and commerce to create work that was playful but often also intentionally irreverent and provocative. Pop Art was routinely looked as a constant source of inspiration through the years by designers.
