Rainer Becker’s latest creation, Oblix, was inspired by the incredible view of London’s unique skyline. Taking inspiration from the location on the 32nd floor of The Shard, Rainer was reminded of the rooftop views of New York and references a New York grill as backdrop and inspiration for the menu.
Oblix is the newest restaurant from Rainer Becker, founder of Zuma, Roka and the Shochu Lounge. Moving away from Japanese cuisine and culture for the first time in over a decade, Oblix will offer dishes delivered in Becker’s signature style of upscale, sophisticated, urban dining. Fabien Beaufour, previously of Eleven Madison Park, has been selected to head up the kitchen and was chosen for his dedication to quality, precision and consistency; attributes seen across all of Rainer’s establishments.
Oblix offers both a restaurant and a bar lounge that is located over the whole of the 32nd floor. The restaurant is open traditional lunch and dinner hours, whilst the bar offers a deli option at lunch time, dinner menu in the evenings and brunch at the weekends. Live music also features in the bar. Involved with all the creative aspects of Oblix, Rainer worked closely with renowned architect Claudio Silvestrin to create a sleek dining style based on a warm palette of colours, natural elements and textures that deliver the experience to the guest.
